NBA Top Shot, a collaboration between the NBA, NBPA, and Dapper Labs, has launched its 2025-26 season, featuring rising talent like Cooper Flagg and Yang Hansen. This season introduces digital autographs, one-of-one signature collectibles from new stars, and enhanced interactive designs, with limited rookie collectibles available. Roham Gharegozlou, CEO of Dapper Labs, emphasized that these updates aim to bring fans closer to the sport while securing highlights on-chain for long-term authenticity. Key blockchain infrastructure upgrades will place NBA highlights directly on-chain, ensuring each play is independently verifiable. Launched on the Flow blockchain, NBA Top Shot popularized NFTs by merging basketball's appeal with blockchain technology, and it saw a significant sales increase during the 2024-25 season tip-off.
