Bitget Wallet introduces multichain gas abstraction for simpler crypto transactions

Crypto Briefing
Bitget Wallet now allows users to pay transaction fees using stablecoins or BGB across multiple blockchains via gas abstraction.

Summary

Bitget Wallet has introduced multichain gas abstraction, allowing users to pay transaction fees with stablecoins (USDT, USDC) or its native token BGB, eliminating the need to hold network-specific gas tokens. This update leverages EIP-7702 and supports major EVM chains (Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism), as well as Solana and TRON. Jamie Elkaleh, CMO of Bitget Wallet, stated this is a foundational step for scalable self-custody by removing the friction of managing fragmented native gas tokens. The system automatically deducts fees in the chosen token, utilizing Solana's Paymaster model and TRON's energy leasing mechanism. This builds upon the existing GetGas feature, with plans to extend gas abstraction to cross-chain transactions.
